Historian Catherine Grace Katz will be interviewed by Kate Andersen Brower  about her book "The Daughters of Yalta:  The Churchills, Roosevelts, and Harrimans: A Story of Love and War".
Tensions during the Yalta Conference of February 1945 threatened to tear apart the wartime alliance among Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin. Katz uncovers the story of the three young women chosen by their fathers to travel with them to Yalta.  Anna Roosevelt, Sarah Churchill, and Kathleen Harriman were each bound by family loyalty, political savvy, and intertwined romances that powerfully colored these crucial days.
Bridging the personal and the political, The Daughters of Yalta is a tale of fathers and daughters whose relationships were tested and strengthened by the history they witnessed and the future they helped to create.
About the Speakers:
Catherine Grace Katz is an historian with degrees in history from Harvard and Cambridge. She is currently pursuing her JD at Harvard Law School. The Daughters of Yalta is her first book.
Kate Andersen Brower is an American journalist and author who has written three books about the White House, two of which have been New York Times bestsellers. She covered the White House for Bloomberg News during President Barack Obama's first term and before that she worked at CBS News and Fox News as a producer. She is also a CNN contributor and has written for The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, and The Smithsonian.
